Martin receiving A Cornwall Lifetime Trust Certificate

Here at Drive Time, we have teamed up with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk in order to do our bit to help the local wildlife and environment. We will be donating 20p from every lesson to the Trust in order to help them with their conservation projects throughout Cornwall.

The Trust is a registered charity, founded in 1962, which fulfils a role occupied by no other countryside organisation. They are concerned solely with Cornwall and are involved in the many aspects of conserving Cornwall's wildlife and wild places.

In addition to this, Drive Time has delivered an Eco-Safe Driving course for staff at the Wildlife Trust. The first part of the course involved a power point presentation on the benefits of eco-driving, two professionally produced video presentations on eco-driving techniques and a question and answer session on general driving queries.

The second part of the course involved taking staff out in pairs in a car to assess the standard of their eco driving and to give pointers as to how they could improve their technique and to give tips as to how, with minor changes to their driving style, they could save fuel, reduce emissions and become much safer drivers.

Martin Instructed Staff On Eco-Driving

Jasmin Brown, Marketing and Fundraising co-ordinator for the Wildlife Trust said “We are always looking at ways to become more environmentally sustainable here at Cornwall Wildlife Trust. We aim to reduce our travel miles as much as possible from the outset but the nature of our work means that we do still need to drive a fair distance. Finding ways to cut down on our fuel consumption when we do have to drive really appealed to us. Using the eco-driving techniques will not only save us money, allowing us to spend more on wildlife conservation in Cornwall, it will also reduce our greenhouse gas emissions which is really important to us.I would recommend any organisation, whose staff need to drive, to take Drive Time’s Eco-Safe Driving Course to help both the environment and their bank balance”.

If you or your business are interested in Eco-Safe driving courses please give Drive Time a call on 01209 821730. See also the link to eco driving on our website.
